Conveniently located between Akureyri and Mývatn, Berg hostel is the perfect location to stay to explore the North beyond Akureyri

The hostel at Berg is located on Sandi in Aðaldal. It is surrounded by magnificent nature and a diverse bird life. The hostel is at the edge of Aðaldalshraun, which is a lava field that is particularly beautiful and has varied lava formations; it is also covered with low birch and bushes. Through the lava field many interesting walking paths can be found. There is an extraordinary view from the hostel Berg to the north over Skjálfandi bay and to Kinnarfjöll (Kinnarmountains) in the west.

The nearest town is Húsavík, 18 km away from the hostel, and there you find various service and interesting activities. In Húsavík is the nearest shop to the Hostel Berg, so travellers have either to bring food with them or drive to Húsavík to get supplies.
